Challenge

As most of you know I live with the two best roommates in the World Jen-a-Max. As I have previously mentioned they are both extraordinary photographers with a really creative eye.

Again as you most know I am trying out for Sephoras Pro Beauty Team at some point this year...

I told Jen-A-Max I needed a Challenge.

I told them when I come home from work to give me a concept or a restriction of only using certain products to challenge my artistry and creativity.

Well Jen threw me through a loop when I got home and said alright you concept is "Bubbles"

I went all over the house looking for props... all i could find was bubble wrap... that DID NOT work out....

So I decided to think okay when I think of a bubble what do I see:

Bubble:

Transparent
Iridescent
Voluptuous
plump
Clean---> = Blue.

So I decided to construct a pair of lashes made with blue and black chunks (they were awesome!)

As for eyeshadow I used a very clean shimmery look with a orange for the crease color to compliment the blue.

For Complexion I made her skin EXTREMELY dewy and Iridescent.

And the Lips I over drew with her cupids bow rounded instead of pointy with the innocence of a hot pink lip!

The look was simple and exciting. I feel I executed this look as best as I could with out being tacky....

Brat O' Tat

Michelle 'Brat O'Tat' Devito is on the Redstick Roller derby Team for Baton Rouge A really cool and majorly intense Roller Derby team!

Oh Alas Vera!

Alas Vera contacted me a week before she moved to Canada. I was so glad she did. Alas Vera is amazing photographer. I really love her stuff. It's so interesting.
Model Crimson Black drove in from Mississippi to shoot with us. She had the most beautiful hair I had ever seen. The pictures were awesome I loved the use of lighting in this. Alas Vera Really brought my makeup to life. <3

Crimson Black really rocked this I love these pictures.

Kaylynn Marie Photography & Model Meagan Thierry

I have worked with Meagan Thierry before she was a natural at modeling so I was really excited about working her again.

She brought her little cousin this time. Her cousin saw her pictures and decided she wanted to be a model too. Unfortunately, I didn't get to go to this shoot either...I did the makeup and had to run off. The makeup came out great I was really proud of it. I LOVE the pictures!!!!

Go TEam!

Kaylynn Marie Photography & Model Faith

Kaylynn called me and told me she had shot Faith before for her senior pictures. Well Faith is extremely talented! She is I think a Graphic Design major? at LSU. Basically she created the dress she wore for this shoot by hand all by herself out of Zippers.
She is extremely talented and it was an honor to work with her.

Not only is she great at making dresses she is a gorgeous model! I didn't get to go to this shoot. However, I was there for the prep. I tried something completely different in makeup. Again, not my usual style. I did a VERY NOT BLENDED Smokey EYE. It really worked for her. I really liked the outcome of this look for her eye shape. Kaylynn always gives me the freedom to try new things. I love how she encourages my creativity and the risks we take with together.

Check it!

Kaylynn Marie Photography & Model Jenifer

Jenifer was in town on business and had contacted Kaylynn because she wanted to build her portfolio with some new shots. Jenifer was really fun. I did the hair and makeup for this shoot and I think she wore one of my dresses too. We shot near my moms house on the levee by the boat dock. After Katrina hit it wrecked the boat dock and it hasn't need fixed since. Lots of rubbish to play in!
I didn't get to stay for the shoot but the prep for it was fun. I really enjoyed the pictures.

Jen Lebanc Photography Colaboration with Cristina Christy

Jen-a-Max brought me and Corey to this awesome thrift store called the Garage in NOLA. It has tons of crazy cool vintage things.. Jen found a pair of boot straps and we ended up connecting them together to make a corset for the lovely Cristina Christy.
Christina being the queen of horror loves to do very edgy crazy things. I did her makeup very dirty and dewy. Habiba White also took part in the shoot she totally rocked the hair in this shoot. I loved it.
The pictures came great. I was so impressed with everything that went into the shoot and that came out.

Jen Lebanc Photography Colaboration Model Kayla Guerro

Kayla was a really fun and interesting model. She is very versatile. Kayla wanted to do a very neon, bright wild shoot. So we did some very not my style crazy makeup. It was fun! Take a look!

Ursula Colaboration With Kaylynn Marie Photography

I told Kaylynn I had something I wanted to try with makeup that may take a while. I had made a face chart when I worked for MAC that I wanted to put onto a real face.

That looks like this^

Well I have this gorgeous friend Florance who I had been wanting to use as a model anyway. We did the makeup then came up with the concept of Ursula.

We made another dress out of red and black Thule..that matched Florence's bad-ass red highlights. We wanted to put Florance in water and create the illusion that she was floating and have the bottom of the dress torn to shreds to float on top the water.

We finished the hair, dress and makeup and headed out toward the levee. I knew the water was high because it had just rained. We planned on finding a 1 foot deep pond to put Florance in. We wrapped garbage bags around Florance's legs.
Everything was great until it began to rain. We all ran under a tree trying to protect all camera equipment.
We ended up placing Florence in the pond in front of my apartment complex.
After everything the pictures came out great! Kaylynn always impresses me. Florance did a great job modeling and Corey always a good light man.

Marionette Colaboration with Kaylynn Marie Photography

This was an awesome day!

Kaylynn and I had been talking about doing a marionette shoot for a while. I pitched the idea to Kaylynn of using my friend Caitlin for the model.
I went to high school with Caitlin Murphy she is 4'10 and absolutely drop dead gorgeous. She always made me laugh with her expressions. I thought she would be a great puppet. And she was. My moms house is located across the street from the performing arts center. At the time the arts center was showing rocky horror picture show. I asked my mom to pull some strings(haha I made a funny) and see if we could use the stage for the shoot.
AND WE GOT IT!
The stage was amazing!!!
We used an old Victorian wedding dress we bought from goodwill that morning for the shoot and also an old black dress Kaylynn borrowed from here sister.
We got some great shots in both dresses! We even got to use the fog machine!!
Well the black dress was a knee length dress...however, on Caitlin it was ankle length hehe. We decided to make the dress longer and bigger.I bought 24 yards of black Thule. We had Caitlin stand on a bar stool then we ran around her with the thule until her skirt became so large it reached the end of the stage. Caitlin look extremely tall.
Everything worked out amazing!
Later in the shoot Edmund Kee became the puppeteer for the shoot. He rocked it!
Actually we all did. This was one of my favorite shoots!
Everyone creative juices were flowing and my mom was bringing snacks to the stage the whole time. I tried to explain to her that she can't feed the model but she just wouldn't take no for an answer...

Check out the Shots!
