Amy Himel Gomez

I met Amy Himel about 3 years ago. We worked at MAC together.
Talk about a funny girl.
I love Amy she has a great energy. She has this way of lighting up the room and turning any frown upside down.
Not only is she funny but extremely talented!
Amy is a great MUA you can view more of her Makeup Skills at: http://www.modelmayhem.com/483281
Amy is also getting into photography to which you can check out:http://www.facebook.com/home.php?#/group.php?gid=80793825123&ref=ts

Recently Amy went from being Amy Himel to Amy Himel Gomez. Congrats Doll!

Amy asked me to do the makeup for her bridal portraits and Wedding. I was truly honored.

Kaylynn Marie Photography shot her bridal portraits.

Amy looked absolutely stunning!

Take a look for yourself!

I can honestly say this is one of the best makeup jobs I have ever done.
I spent a lot of time on detail with Amy.

Amy also happened to be my manager and P.E. So naturally I was intimidated and nervous!

My sad attempt for photography....

A long time ago in February of 2009... I decided I would try to do fashion photography with my little Sony Cybershot (point and shoot)....

I just wanted pictures of my makeup... I was desperate!

In the first set..I used this girl in my Biology 102 class, she was so pretty I asked her to model for me...

I took the pictures and I asked Erica to edit them for me.. Erica being the amazing person and friend that she is did that for me :)

In the Second set I asked my friend Ashleigh to come over and I was going to play photographer again.. with my Sony...

I actually loved the hair, makeup and styling for these pictures...I just wish someone else would have taken these....

Cherish this Bride....

Cherish is actually a photographer from Louisianan.
Max and I wanted to get some bridal shots for our portfolios.
Cherish explained to us she never had pictures taken for a her wedding. So she modeled for us as a bride and we all got some great shots!

Cherish is so beautiful and shes a great model and Photographer!!

Portfolio Building Project 2009

In 2009 I sent this post out to Model Mayhem:

So.. Just like everyone else I am trying to build my portfolio. And I do enjoy seeing all of your beautiful faces!

I want to have a Photography Portfolio-building party at my apartment.
I want to set up 1 white sheet and 1 black sheet.
I want a BUNCH of models.

I have tons and tons of ideas flying through my brain.
I would like to try them out on all of you.

I need a Volunteer Photographer(s)

** This also gives everyone an excuse to meet and work together**

I would like everyone to come hangout and I will do makeup one by one and send them down stairs to have their picture taken and so on...

I mostly want fun HIGH FASHION head shot but I think it could be a blast to have group picture?

Get it?

obviously there isn't any pay here. It for fun portfolio building....

Obviously Schedules are very difficult... I am thinking of doing this on a Sunday. Everyone who works usually gets off at 6pm and can join later. And everyone who is off of work can come during the day.. etc.

My Sunday Schedule for July absolutely SUCKS right now but maybe the first weekend in August or something?

p.s. Im not crazy.

Message me if your interested! First I need a photographer!!!!!!!!!

Soon after I posted this I had a overwhelming amount of feedback. We had tons of people excited about the PBP.

The PBP took place on August 9th 2009. It was amazing. We had a great Turn out.
We had a total of 5 MUA's three beauty artists (Tina Rodosta, Shena O., and Myself) and two amazing Fx artists (Scot Clark and Barton Giley)
We also had 6-7 photographers(which I will name Later) and One amazing hair stylist Habiba White from Salon Euphoria.

The pictures came out amazing we had a lot of fun!

I completely transformed my apartment. I folded the coaches on top of one another and stacked all my furniture...

My room was transformed into a studio as well. I folded up my bed and created 4 different makeup stations. It worked out great. Such a fun party!

Shena O. ("So made Up") I have worked with Shena for a few years. She is very talented and is very promising. Not to mention shes absolutely adorable. I ended up convincing her to be a Model and she did Fantastic.

Tina Rodosta another MUA featured in the PBP. Oh Tina always a blast to work with, shes always so upbeat and excited! She did an amazing job at the PBP! You can see more of her work at: http://www.bridalbeautyconsulting.com/

Scot Clark such an awesome guy! He has taught me so much I definately look up to him! He did Old age makeup on Joe Robert one of the Male Models. It was great! He also did a bad-ass skull on Wes (Tina's Man)

Barton Giley did an awesome job on model Brian Roberts. He used a Foam latex appliance from CFX. http://www.compositeeffects.com/

Habiba White from owner of Salon Studios did a wonderful job on this project. She worked her butt off! Habiba did all of the Hair for the PBP. May I just say the hair was terrific! Thanks again Habiba!
I was extremely impressed with Habiba's work on my two models (Jen and Heather) for my female loch ness monsters. She twisted their hair in to this nasty nests of coolness!

Kaylynn Marie Photography continues to always impress me with her greatness she got some great shots!
This was model L. Alexander he was extreamly patient and a very good, hungry model! MUA: Me
This is Model Jen Leblanc (jagged Soul) Stunning as usual! MUA:ME!

He was a little shy at first but he warmed up to us! He got some really great shots too! Take a Look! you can view more of his work at:http://www.photoshelter.com/c/derickhingle

Nettie R Harris

Nettie Harris was absolutely ravishing! She was so adorable. I loved working with her.
Erica and I took a trip down to Nola to shoot Nettie. We shot at the old battle field in Chalmette.

We were there for only about 30 minutes before the rain started POURING down. We had to RUN back to the car. We were drenched. That's OK though we got some great shot of Nettie glistening.

The Makeup was very simple for this shoot. I used very light colors and the focus was set in to her complexion.

The pictures Erica captured are stunning. Again they pull me right into my happy place!

Nettie looks so care-free in these picture I love it!

Studio Virginia --Futuristic look

I shot with studio Virgina again a few months later.

She wanted to do a futuristic look and use Model Bliss Kelly. Bliss Kelly is a great model. She has a very high fashion look. This shoot was the first time I ever shoot with Bliss Kelly.

She did a great job!

The location was an old broken down Gas station on Government street.

Pretty cool location.

Virginia told me to just do a futuristic look with color. I really don't know where I came up with this makeup look. It just kind of happened?

I remember her skin was amazing. I couldn't stop talking about how beautiful her skin looked very Dewey and futuristic!

I also did the hair for these pictures as well it was a super fun!

The shoot was a lot of sun and I really enjoyed the pictures!

The First picture at the top was my "Behind the Scenes picture"

Studio Virginia

Studio Virginia and I met on the Web. She is a really sweet girl with a great talent.
I have shot a few times with her. Every time was a pleasure!

The first shoot I had with her was with Model Ashley. Ashley is a great Model from B.R.! She really did great with this shoot.
We shot on Location Downtown B.R. on a Saturday night. There were tones of people coming up to us "What magazine are y'all shooting for" Needless to say I handed out a lot of business cards.... haha

I really liked the pictures!

Go Team!

Max was telling me about this bad-ass chick that he is good friends with "Cannibalized." They met back in Massachusetts. Well Cannibalized
came down to the dirty south to visit and shoot with Jen-A-Max.
They called me over one day so I could participate in the shoot. She was so sweet and real.

I had to do the makeup and run to work so I didn't get to stay for the shoot. However the picture that came from it was awesome :)

Mz. Berry

Mz. Berry Also known as Meagan was a model that contacted Kaylynn to build her Portfolio. Kaylynn and I collaborated as usual. Meagan explained to me that she wanted two looks a Natural look and then something dramatic... She left the Ideas up to Kaylynn and I.

Of course We always want to go over the top. Kaylynn had a Mini Tea set she brought along.

I mentioned the idea of having Meagan looking like a mischievous character... hovering over the tea pots..

Meagan pulled this off perfectly. She really impressed Kaylynn and I.

She has a great look. Thanks Meagan you did great!
